Short Review: OEM Titanium Knob

Picked this up today for $20. I like it quite a bit, not $120 like but I feel $20 was a bargain. Compared to the stock knob it feels much smoother in the hand. Not having the leather I find myself not getting distracted by different materials, textures, and the transition hump between them. The downside though is the knob is less round without the leather so it feels smaller and doesn't fit my grip quite as good, it also makes me realize why there is a preference by some for the aftermarket counter-sunk knobs. A counter-sunk knob I imagine would make the throw feel shorter as well as more solid. Over all I think the only regret I'll have is no escape from the coldness in the mornings.

And for colour obviously it's not a perfect match for the radio-door/center console but neither was the stock knob. It's definitely close just has more warmth in colour.

Wow, you got a great deal! I have one on my s2k too and I really like it. I also had a countersunk knob before, but I wasn't a big fan. I found the shifts too notchy and I didn't like how the throw changed (required a slightly more awkward hand angle for me to change certain gears). Most people seem to prefer countersunk knobs though, so my preference isn't the norm.

I also had a titanium knob on my ITR, but I really didn't like it. It was heavy enough to completely eliminate any shift feel.

The first thing I did when I bought my S was buy a Skunk2 Titanium Shift Knob. Freezing cold on days like today but I much prefer the look and feel over the OEM shifter with the leather on it. Nice buy!!

Skunk2 is the best knob ever. Plus moddiction shifter extender, shifts like butter.

Well this morning my knob was freezing cold, I definitely don't like a cold knob ;) Still liking everything else about it though. Dave I'm sure that one is comfortable and the Skunk2 one looks like a good balance between round and oem shape.
