Broken Tail Light :(

Broken Tail Light :(
So I went to my car this morning and found my back tail light broken.
There's no way the cold could have done this with me shutting my trunk or something? I'm thinking since it was new years eve it was probably smashed out by someone but it's odd since there's no other damage to the car.
I'm thinking about reporting to ICBC since I think it will cost more than my deduct ($300) to get it fixed (unless I order the parts online, wait for them to arrive, and mess around with it myself).
Anyone have any experience reporting vandalism to ICBC? Is it a pain or pretty straight forward?

It's pretty straight forward. If it's only one side thats broken, i would find the parts locally, used. It'll be less than 300$ and you won't have a record for your car.

If you call up some wreakers around town and find any S2K's let me know I would be willing to head out with you to see what we can scrounge. Always good to have some extra parts.
In a lot of cases the body shop that you go to will try to find used parts anyway, You may as well try first.

Just the cover is broken, the lights are fine
I've decided to do it myself. I didn't realize how easy it is plus I don't want a record on my car for a stupid broken light.
Local wreckers didn't have anything but ebay has one for 200. I'll look around on here and see if I can find one used.
Thanks for all the feedback
