Alright, well until we hear the magic behind same diameter tires drastically changing suspension geometry, my answer would be yes, you'll be fine with 16" wheels. In fact, better off with the lighter wheels.

Input your stock 17" tire sizes, and look for the same width tires in 16" to figure the sidewall height. Or pick new widths if you want to, just make sure it fits on the width rim you get. I believe there is a sticky at the top of this sub-forum to help you with that.

 

If you downsize to 16" you will also have a error on your speedometer.

 

Im not saying it will affect the actual geometry itself but that the 16

If you really want the Slipstreams (finally got mine mounted yesterday on my AP1...LOVE them) I don't think sidewall flex is going to kill the deal at all.

However, I would also recommend looking into the Rota Subzero's. Just as the slipstream is light in the 16" version and not so much in the other sizes, the Subzero is light for a 17" wheel. Their 17x7.5 is reported to weight only 16.9 lbs. Compare this to the 13.9 slipstream. Yeah, it's 3lbs heavier, but you have an inch less tire and a 0.5" wider wheel (which also might help on the AP2).

It's also a signifigant drop from the 17.5 lbs for the stock 17x 7" and 20.6 lbs for the stock 17x8.5" AP2 wheels (67.2 lbs vs. 76.2 lbs). I think you could drop more with the slipstreams, but the tradoff will be the sidewall flex.

P.S. The website says the slips are 13.9, I actually measured 13.2, but I'm not sure about the accuracy of my scale.

 

the slip streams are made for the s2000 in a 17 .5 f and a 17.8.5 rear i have bronze on my s... got them from jlb motorsports.com awesome people and prices..
