you may rub but it should not stick out past the fender. What width are you running in the rear? if your running 9 in the front i would not go any lower in the rear. go staggered to a 10 or a 9 all around.

if you plan on running spoon bbk, stoptech bbk, endless bbk, etc... then that offset will not clear. You'll need to run spacers.

This one?

Looks like it can be made to work OK, with some caveats.

a lot of track cars use this set up. 17x9 all around. If you rub, you might could get away with rolling the fenders. anything more than 1" drop might be too low assuming that you'll be doing some hard cornering with this set up.

I'd almost be willing to bet my next kid that will rub. I think you need to go around 235 for it not to rub.

255/40/17 on +63 17x9 volks will rub away your plastic fender lining clips. I removed all the plastic clips on the fender but it still chewed up the fender linings. I will probably need to buy new fender linings when I sell my car.

I will recommend using a coilover with high spring rate (Track-focused) and maxed out camber (-2.0 or more) if you run this setup.

As you can see, my car is fairly low and it did not rub at all on a worn down RA1 in 255/40/17 size and I have not rolled my fender.

The car will have more grip up front and you will need to change your driving style to induce understeer and use the extra grip up front to your advantage. (braking, cornering)

Note: If your running OEM stock suspension, the volks will run your front a-arm if you turn the wheel all the way either direction.
