Default 19" wheel/tire questions

Hi guys!

I'm looking at the Axis Hiro in a 19"x8.5" (45 offset) for the front and a 19"x9.5" (55 offset) for the rear. For tires I'm looking at a 235/35/19 in the front and a 265/30/19 in the rear. (A 225/35/19 and 255/35/19 is the alternate option) Please note that I do not want to cut up or modify the car in any way to accomodate these.

I'm hearing conflicting information on both tire size and wheel size with this set up for my 2005. Has any one run a set up like this?

I'm aware of all of the concern about "Big wheels", but for a street driven vehicle is this really a concern or is it just primarly about this vehicle?

Any information is appreciated.

Thank you, Brian

wheels too big for car, you gotta remember we have a low TQ car, and these are not only heavy but big. then addon that you cant get the exact right overall diameter without having paper thin tires

dont get me wrong, i love riding 19's on every car ive owned.. but when i got the S i settled for 18's because thats whats right to maintain her being agile.. 17's are ideal but i went for 18's cause i like big rims

hopfully this helps

fully agreed,

u just gotta accept when you buy certain cars... you gotta roll 18's.. be glad u dont have an elise.. u pretty much gotta roll 17's to keep performance..

and like i said before.. im the kinda guy who rolls 28's/20's 19's and i know its hard to settle w/ an 18.. but its worth it

hey,
i'm running 19x8 in the front with a +49 offset and a 19x9.5 rear with a +55 offset. i'm running General Exlaim tires all around, F 225/35/19 R 265/30/19

The front is perfectly fine, and the rear rubs a little when i go on the highway over a big dip in the road or uneven surfaces etc or over a big bump but other than that its been okay so far.

I'm lowered about 1.8" in the front and a 1.5" in the rear.

I'm actually going to be getting my rear fenders rolled because i plan on lowering the car another .5 or so to level it out and therefore need the fenders rolled in.

I haven't really had to many problems at all and i drive my car everyday. hope that helps.

I'm lowered on JIC-FLTA2 suspension and removed the helper springs to be able to raise it high enough with 19's with a drop and i set the dampening to 10 so its pretty stiff in the rear so that it doesn't rub as much.

Hope that helps.

Well thanks for all the info guys.
After all of the research I've done I've come to the conclusion that finding just exactly what you want for wheels for this car is truly a pain in the S!

I'm definitely leaning more toward 18's. Today I was able to see a set of 18"x8" front (45 offset) with 225/40/18 and 18"x9" rear (55 offset) with 245/35/18. The front is slightly outside the fender and the rear is close and that is something that I definitely do not want.

I'll keep looking.

Thanks again, Brian
