Default 245/45-17

Will a 245/45-17(rear) rub on a stock '06 ?
I have a opportunity to get a set of 4(with less than 1k miles on them).
So if they won't rub I'll buy them and wear them out on my car.
My buddy didn't like the way they "looked" on his car so he bought new tires and he will sell his old(new) tires to me for 1/2 price
I am running 255/40-17 out back right now and I have never had a tire rub yet, so with a 245/45 being about 1/2" taller than the tires I have on the car now I hope they won't rub.

they wont rub, but you will have a tilt issue with those if you're running 45s on the front too.

I'm thinking of going to a 235/45-17 front tire to help make the car some what level.
I just hate to pass up a good deal like this one, (4) Continental Extreme Contact DWS 245/45-17 for $280(with 1k miles).

245/45-17 are an inch taller than stock. Ride height 1/2" higher.

Why would you want all-season tires in July, anyway?

I don't track my car and I put a lot of miles on it so I want tires that will give me at least 35k miles. I put about 30k miles a year on it and don't want to buy 2 or 3 sets of tires a year.

Tires are NOT something to cheap out on...they really aren't very expensive in the scheme of things. And they make a huge difference. Get something better that's the right size.
