255?
Will a 255 tire fit on a 8 inch rim or do I have to go to a 8.5.
Thanks |
ya know, when my tire guys screwed up and put the wrong tire on my front rim, i can tell you that a 255 on a 8 looks like a fat guy trying on a pair of speedos two sizes too small. it just ain't pretty and you can tell it didn't fit.

so 8.5 or 9. Nines are harder to find. I want to keep the weight down but get as much grip as possible. Also want to stay in 17's.

i personally run 225/40/18 front 255/35/18 rear. rims are 8 and 9.5. of course, i'm a show guy, not track, so we have two very different purposes in mind. :)

Hey...If you want to stay with 17's; at Tire Rack they have SSR Comps sizes 17 by 8" and 17 by 9" and they are lightweight. They also have good offsets for the S2000, even if its lowered. Use tire sizes 225/45-17 & 255/40-17. With a 255 rear on these wheels a 225 front would be cool. Contact Jim. Hope this helps.
