My set of 255/40 RS-3 tires shipped today also. I ordered a week ago and they shipped out today. I don't see the issue...

 

i picked up the last set of 255/40/17 back in feburary from the Nevada warehouse. they have had "Estimated in stock" date of 5-4-12 since then so its been 3 months they have been out of the size, you just got lucky about when you ordered ha ha of course 1 week isnt bad

 

You wouldn't see the issue if you have only been looking for your tires for 1 week.... If I were you I would go ahead and order your second set of tires if you plan on running R-S3's again.

 

I dont see the big deal either. I ordered my R-S3s back in feb as well and Tirerack said it estimated availability was 5/4/12. The only reason someone would be frustrated is if they screwed themselves over by waiting until their tires were corded before they ordered a new set.

I'm guessing you never drive your S2000? In 3 months it's pretty easy to go through a decent portion of the tread on R-S3's, but if you don't mind waiting that long for your replacement tires more power to you. I for one have been dicked around for the last time by Hankook. Take my experience however you like.

No I wait until discount tire direct has a $50 off sale which they have multiple times per year and then buy multiple sets depending on the number of track days I plan on doing. I check a few times per week and never wait until I will absolutely need tires in the next month or so.

 

This will be my 4th set of RS3's. The current set on the car has 3/32s left and I'm taking them off and mounting the new ones when they come in tomorrow. I have a national tour race in 5 weeks and I want freshly broken in tires to run on.

 

My 255's should be here Friday just in time for a group drive in the mountains this weekend

 

My R-S3's were finally delivered today. (Ordered early March)
Just in time for my autoslalom season!
Did one event last weekend on my old tires, but have a Regional event next weekend that I desperately wanted new rubber for, so thankfully I'll be in good shape now!
