Another tire size thread..sigh..
Ok guys, I realize there are over a billion threads on the right tire size with larger wheels..I have searched and read through a ton but still would like some advice before I purchase new rear tires...here is the thing..I bought my s2000 with these aftermarket wheels and tires already on the car so Im not sure exactly how the previous owner made them work. When doing a search I came across two different offsets for this 18 X 8 wheel. One was +20 and one was +40 which Im assuming the offset of the wheels on my s2000 is +40 because there are 215/40/18 tires on the front and 235/40/18 tires on the rear. The issue Im having is my car is lowered with espelir springs(also came on the car when I bought) and the rear literally sits on the tires. It doesnt rub unless I hit a HUGE dropoff or hump in the road, but Im worried that with a brand new tire with full tread it may rub..also another issue I have with the tires is both the rear and front are 40 profile. So the rear being wider with the same profile makes them look so much fatter than the front tires. So, my question is should I go with the same 235/40/18 tires or try to maybe go 245/35/18 to lower the profile some? Im just trying to make the tires look similiar profile wise from a side view of the car, which they dont right now obviously. At the same time should I have any issues going a bit wider in the rear? Or is there a possiblity of the car looking stupid with 40 profile tires in the front and 35 profile tires in the rear? Im not sure where to go with this lol..I thought about 235/35/18 tires but its an off size and only like one or two companies make that size tire and they are $300 each..any input or help would be GREATLY appreciated
