Default Can I run 18x8s nonstaggered??

Found a set of wheels that I like. My question is could I run them on the S? They are 18x8 with a 40mm offset all around. I know that the wheels should be staggered. Can i get around this with a different tire sizes in the front and rear? If so what tire sizes should be used and can the car be dropped about an inch without major issues?

Running non staggered tires wont kill your handling but running wheels with that low of an offset will do terrible things to your fenders

Can someone elaborate on this matter. 40mm won't fit? Phantom you said don't do it. Can you clear this fuzzy area up for me. The rep told me that the 40 mm offset would fit. Would it rub? I know that running nonstaggered sets would make the car tailhappy. Could I try running 8" wide wheels with the narrowest possible tire up front and the widest possible in the rear to get the stagggered effect?

40mm will stick out.

also... I wrote up a basic faq about staggered wheels in the library section some time ago. check it out and see if it helps with your decision. but seriously - not recommended in offset nor non-staggered setup.

you can check out the article here: https://www.s2ki.com/article/articleview/129/1/10/

I read all the FAQs page. Just wanted to here what you wheel and tire gurus had to say about my particular situation.

Some people will do anything to get a sale.

Of course the will "fit" if you use some skinny tires like 215/40/18 in front and 225/40/18 in rear.

There are 3 main objectives for going aftermarket wheels for me:

1. Looks
2. Performance
3. Increase tire longevity

1. 18x8 all around may look good from the side profile, but from the rear or side, you can see that the wheels are sticking out. The car will looks like it is bow-legged. And if you go less than 245...the tires look to skinny in rear. I know that the stock tires are 225/50/16...but the monster tread width actually makes it look like a 255 tire.

2. Going 18x8 +40mm will definately decrease the performance. Unless you go r compound.

3. Tire longevity is probably the only category 18x8 +40mm will do for you.

The Wheels will stick out of the wheel well. With any suspension travel they will hit the fender. I would not do it. Even the 45mm offset will stick out of the wheel well.
