Centering rings?
 

I often times hear things like centering rings for new wheels for the s2k... I have new rims on my car and the pics and sizing can be looked at in my sig below me. I don't think I have any centering rings on my rims, do I need them???

The purpose of a "centering ring" or "hubcentric ring" is to center the wheel on the hub while the lugs are tightened. Sometimes the lugs will center the wheel well enough by themselves and centering rings are not necessary. Once the lugs are torqued, the centering ring has done its job, and the lugs themselves will keep the wheel from slipping on the hub.

So unless you feel vibration at speed, your lugs have worked well enough to center your wheel. Not all situations are the same. Some people experience problems without rings and some don't.

Thanks for the help!!! Thats the thing, at around 80 mph I do start to get some vibration in the rear right. Where can I purchase these rings???

How come the stock wheels don't have this issue?

The stock wheels are designed to fit the hub perfectly. That is, the hub diameter is the same as the bore in the wheel.

To get rings for your wheels, find out what the hub bore is on your wheels. The hub diameter on the S2000 is 70.7mm front and 64.1mm rear if I'm not mistaken. You need to find a ring that will fit over the hub on the S2000 and into the bore of the wheel. You might try Tirerack or the manufacturer of the wheels.

No, a tape measure won't cut it. It has to be accurate. It may be stamped on the wheel, or a google search might turn it up, or you may have to call the manufacturer. If you have a set of calipers you could use that.

I wasn't going to say anything, but yeah, those offsets are terrible for the S2000.
