Default Correct wheel offsets

Hi guys i know there have been tons and tons of threads like this and i appologize, just i need to clear something up for myself before i go in on new wheels. I was looking and 5Zigen ZR+ wheels and another member had them on there S. the specs were as follows: F: 17x7+47 225/45/17; R: 17x9+37 245/40/17. It looks like a nice setup and the member directed me with what to do should i get this set up. My only problem with this is the rear look almost to big for the car and stick out quiet a bit. The fenders would likly need to get rolled and id rather not do that. I was wondering if i can change the rear specs to 17X8+42 and still have the sunken look and be able to fit a 245 tire on this wheel or would it look to closely like the front wheel interms of sunkenness. Any guidance on this wuld be very appreciated as im close to selling my stock V1's i just want to have a nice sunken look for the rear without the rubbing or fender pulling. I am also lowered on S-techs. If there is anything else i can supply to you i can surely do so.

As far as the rolling process goes, that will not do anything for you if the wheels are sticking out. You will need your fenders pulled, or cut and flared.

The rear FN01R-C looks concave because it is a 9 inch barrel. If you were to order an 8 inch barrel they would not look like that. However, since the 01R-C is cast, you can have the wheels cut and welded, and have the width changed by however much you would like. If you wanted to narrow down the wheel by about an inch, then you would be at something more similar to the stock offset, but still keep the spoke shape.

Hope any of this helps..

The 17x9 +37 will definitely rub without rolling fenders but you should be good with the 17x8 +42 pending your alignment specs.

he's not looking for the FN01R-C. Those concave at 10" anyways in our offsets.

So will the rears still have sunk look compared to the fronts with the different size and offset since that it what im most concerned about.

In short, no. The face will be just as flat as the fronts.

well thats no good, If i decrease the offset to perhaps +32 then would it look sunken without rubbing issues?

I can't really guarantee that. Different wheel designs concave at different offsets/widths. There's no guarantee that dropping the offset on an 8 width wheel will concave it. I don't believe you'll get the concave from the 9.0 width wheel +37 on an 8 width wheel +32 offset. Why don't just go with another wheel design that concaves at a higher offset if you are worried about fender modding? Most if not all wheels that concave are going to require some or slight modding to the rear fenders.

Well the reason why im trying to stick with this particular wheel is because i just like the design, i understand that it might need minor adjustments like a bumper tab relocation but im trying to stay away from any metal work. I may try and call either DTD or 5zigen soon and see what they have to say, i also really like work emotions but they are almost 400 or more dollars more and thats not something id want to invest in right now.

I can totally understand what you are saying. Good luck with whatever you decide on.
