Default cr wheels and tires fit on ap1?

I recently purchased a set of cr rims (17') that take 215/45R17 in the front and 255/40R17 in the back. Will these fit on my 2001 ap1 s2k? I'm concerned about rubbing, since the ap1 oem tires are 205/55R16 in the front and 225/50R16 in the back. That's a significant difference in tire width, especially in the rear (about 1 inch wider).

Also, will the change in wheel and tires (assumably heavier) have an impact on the driving characteristics? If the handling is impacted, what tire sizes should I use to match my ap1 handling while using the cr wheels?

Any input/help is greatly appreciated.

what about the handling? i dont want to put the much heavier, wider tires if there is an alternative to maintain my ap1 handling characteristics.

You will have more grip thanks to the wider tire which is only going to improve handling.

The rims will fit just fine; your fenders are no different from an AP2/CR.

As for tires, you can put a 225 in the front if you'd like.

The handling WILL be impacted, in a positive manner.

I sold my CR wheels to an AP1 owner too....

the wheels are bigger but just as light if not lighter. i think the ap2V1 is the lightest rear wheel honda makes at something like 17lbs?

I think that for US S2000 wheels, the AP1's are the lightest at ~17.5 and 18.5 lb. AP2V1's are a few pounds heavier.

They fit fine, here is a pic of them on an 03. Click on the pic a couple times to enlarge.

"215/45R17 in the front and 255/40R17 in the rears". That is my setup on my AP1 on CE28's with OEM offsets... they fit just fine.

I've done research about a 1 inch drop on these forums and apparently it shouldn't rub even then.

As far as handling is concerned i think there was a significant improvement in grip... and the wheels are lighter

Track my 03 S with 08 CR wheels, I use 225 front. No rubbing, no problems!

Great set-up, love the look too! Fyi my car is lowered about 1.5 inch (MY05 suspension with SWIFT springs).
