crazy offset wheels
 

im looking at getting some crazy offset wheels
17x8 +23
17x9 +15 to be exact

just wanted to see how hard it would be to fit them on the s
i am currently running some 17x8 +42 17x9 +44 work emotions
so i had to roll my rear fenders
i am pretty low with only about half a finger gap all around
i also like to auto x and drift my car at local events so still wanna be able to do that
i am planning on running some smaller tires
around 215 in the front and 245 in the back or something like that


any advice would be cool before i jump on the deal

Are you sure you want to do that if you're interested in auto-x and drifting?

Why would you want to decrease performance that much...I'd only do it if you add overfenders and/or widebody kit

If you post this question in the wheel & tire forum ( https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=56 ), you will probably get much more accurate responses. People who work for tire rack frequent that forum to answer questions- lots of technical expertise.

Let me guess going for the "proper fitment" or "stance" lol?
Why would you get them and then run smaller tires and want to auto x?

I'm all for "lower" offset wheels, but this is beyond functionality imo. The work you'd have to do with rolling/pulling/flaring just to get them to "fit" with crazy stretched tires it wouldn't even be close to worth it if you're interested in performance.

For reference (napkin math incoming):

OEM rear fitment is - 16" x 7.5", +65 offset, 225 tire. To go to 9 wide, +15, you're going to extend your outer position by 69mm (or 2.72") You'd probably need to run a 225 on the rear to make it fit, which would be fairly stretched over the normal 245 or 255.

If you are performance minded and still want something "flush" I would suggest looking for something more around 8/9 wide for rear and front, respectively and +35 to +45 offset, and you could run a 225/45 255/40, respectively, tire setup.

do it.....you can still drift just not with those sizes(youd have to change the wheels to auto-x, at least the fronts, maybe not the rears.
you might have issues with rubbing depending on your suspension setup.
and it is going to take some pulling(not much) and some camber, but you probly want that to auto-x/drift anyways.
