Curious about alignment specs KW V3's
Currently running kw v3's set at the maximum recommended height(modestly lowered), 17X8/9in wheels, 215/245 star specs. I had the car dialed in for the U.K spec alignment but wasn't happy with it once the coil-overs were installed.
Any insight on recommended alignment specs for my set up would be helpful and greatly appreciated. |
why weren't you happy with it?
did you get them re-aligned once the coils were put in. i have buddy clubs n+ and i was thinking about getting UK specs except for zeroing out the toe. oh and bump those tires up to 235/255 :D |
I'm willing to bet he just put the coilovers on and didn't realign it. I dont think a moderately lowered car on kw would get close to a stock UK alignment spec.

And yes, I did have the alignment re-dialed in by a family member who works at Honda a few days after the coil-overs were installed. Mr. Williams; I just want to try a new setup since my car gets aligned for free...Wanted some suggestions. Why run a stock alignment on a car that's no longer stock? |
What don't you like? One thing I highly recommend is reducing rear to from stock or UK AP1 alignment specs. Try ~0.2-0.3 degrees total (0.1 - 0.15degrees per side).
Too much rear toe causes excessive tire wear, gives twitchy nonlinear weird handling in a straight line over any kind of bumps or undulations, and needlessly reduces turn-in responsiveness. For camber, UK specs (-1deg front -2deg rear) are fine. Even up to 2.5 is totally fine. Enjoy... |
^thank you sir for those suggestions!
I just wanted to mess around with setups as it doesn't hurt my wallet when I want an alignment thanks to my brother working where he does...however the person doing the alignment is learning more-so so I run a certain risk when it comes to it being done right but I trust my brother to an extent.lol I just feel like the steering is off when I went with the 215/45/17's up front..I miss the preciseness of the stock 16's.. Excuse my lingo, guess you would call that under-steer..but too my understanding bumping up to a 225 upfront would eliminate that? |
i use agressive alinment and i like it:
front toe - out ~4mm in total from camber ~2degr caster ~ 6 degr rear toe - in ~2mm camber ~ 1.8 degr turn in is very good and the car is real joy at twisties. |
