lm22 is a performance snow tire,

ws50 is a more capable snow tire but sacrifices the performance of the lm22

How much performance do you give up by going to the ws50? Is the driveability of the LM22s so much better to justify giving up the extra edge it has in adverse conditions?

Also, how much worse is the Lm22 when it comes to snow performance?

Thanks.

Not meaning to thread-jack but I want to throw in a question too.

I just bought a set of LM-22's and was wondering how they drive on cold (15-35F air temp) dry streets. Do they grip nearly as nice as so2's? How about in the rain?

The WS50 will give up a substantial amount of handling. Unless you are in Buffalo or Syracuse the WS50 would not be a good choice for the car. The LM22 or 25 would handle more like a performance tire in the dry but give you the snow and ice traction you are going to need.
If I can help let me know. The snow tires are beginning to be in short supply.
