Default Fitment with 18's

Hey guys,

I'll be picking up a new set of rims, just trying to gauge how much of a flare/pull I will need to make these fit before they arrive; I already know I will need a roll and tab relocation. Sizes I am considering:

Fronts: 18x8.5 +47 245/40/18

Rears: 18x9.5 +38 265/35/18

Any input would appreciated, thanks

It'll be some work in back, that's for sure. I would advise using 255/35/18 in back. It's closer to stock height and it will be kinder to your fenders.

Either way, it's difficult to say exactly how much camber/pull you'll need. Just wait until you get the setup mounted, then do only as much work as it takes.

Should I try running spacers with that offset at all? I want the full tires to actually be planted to the ground haha

LOL you do not need spacers. That +38 offset is pretty low as is and will require work. I do agree a 255 would be easier with that offset. Make sure you know what youre getting into..

Hahaha that's what I'm trying to figure out, I don't know too much about this offset stuff, but those offsets are the highest I can get for those widths. Would you also suggest moving to a 235 tire in the front?

You will need to roll the fenders pretty aggressively and most likely run -3.5ish camber in the rear. A 18x9.5 +60 would ne about flush with the rear fender, and a +38 is 22mm lower. 25.4mm is an inch so it will be almost an inch past the fender. Not saying it can't be done, but as mentioned it is work. Spacers only push the wheel further out, so in this case they'd be useless.

You havnt mentioned if you're on coil overs or stock suspension. Unless you are lower getting the cambers to the more extreme settings won't work.

It sounds like you should buy a Volkswagon

I am using 18" TRW's nurburgring's nitto 275 30's rear 235 40's front and if I had not lowered the suspension for optimal track handling I would not have needed to roll front or rear. Not on the forum much, if you have questions call 407.342.1974 Orlando/Bob

8.5 +47 with 245 on the front is easy, Simple roll(roll it FLAT, or the tire will grab it) and a small flare to fit the fronts.
9.5 +38 with 265 on the rear? Good luck. I managed to fit a 245/40/18 on a 9.5 +38 on the rear of an S2000 but even with a relocated tab, flare and full bumper trim it's millimeters of clearance even at -4 Camber. I would NOT advise to try to fit that width tire with that rear offset without overfenders or serious fender modifications.
