Default Hankook RS-3

So I thought I might help out some people by giving my thoughts about the Hankook RS-3 tire. I have 225/255 setup on Espelir springs and the car handles great. I don't track or auto-x. I do plan on doing my first auto-x on the 10th of next month though. I mostly just cruise but I do quite a bit of pushing in the turns. That's where these tires shine. Overall, they are a great DD tire IMO, they have lasted me 16,000 miles and the rear still has tread left but the front is bald (bad alignment). They are quiet, ride pretty smooth, and have AMAZING grip. Anyway, I would recommend these to anyone.

thanks for the review, ill be in the market for tires really soon and these are near the top of my list. do you have pics of them? im thinking of going with the 225-255 set-up, but im worried that they will "bulge".

thanks again.

I'm curious, when you say they are pretty quiet and ride smooth, what are you comparing them to?

Yeah me neither and I drag race quite a lot. They have probably been through 15 burnouts. My alignment WAS .5 neg front, 2 neg rear almost maxed caster and I don't remember toe. My alignment is f'ed right now which is the only reason the fronts are bald. When I get the new ones this week sometime I'm gonna go like -2 front, -2.5 rear or so, I really don't know where it should go for DD and auto-x.

I don't have pics but they do bulge a little. RS-3's run wide too. They probably stick out past the rim a half inch maybe...I always think my tires are flat

Idk just other cars in general I guess. Also, I have had Hankook ventus v12's and continental DWS on the car and these seem just as smooth as the all-seasons were.

I ask because I can't wait for my RE050s to wear out. I HATE how they ride. The sidewalls are so stiff the tire can literally be flat and you'd never know it. I pay the price for this over every bump I ride over.

FWIW, most tires are reasonably smooth when they are new. Their true colors come out as they start to wear down.

Well they are smooth but stiff at the same time. They ride good but you feel the bumps, could be because I have aftermarket springs too

You wont have that problem with the rs3s. They have a soft sidewall.

Just curious, how long did your rears last with the Ventus V12's?
