How to clean
Hey guys, I have some Volk CE28N with a polished lip and I was wondering if there were any ways to remove these marks on the lip. It looks like some type of coating or film. They used to be clear but I tried to remove one with some polish but they turned a darker color. Can I try using adhesive remover or something. Here is a pic, its not that noticeable in the pic. All four wheels have these marks. Also, How can I get water marks off? Thanks
I fixed the picture. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...Picture161.jpg |
I can't see your pic (I don't think you can link directly from Yahoo like that), but I'm wondering if you have a clearcoat problem there. Are you sure that lip is only polished, and not clear coated? That would explain the dark color when you polish. If you do have missing clear coat, then polish won't help... you'd have to get them re-finished. Or, get the clear coat stripped off and polish the lip entirely.

That has to be the problem. Most wheels with the polished lips are also clear coated.

So I should go to a wheel shop and have the strip off the clear coat and reapply a new one? Around how much am I looking at? Thanks for the replies.

Post this in "Wash and Wax"forum.!!!

Can someone please move it for me. Is there anyways I can fix this myself?

Can you tell us what kind of polish you used so we don't make the same mistake? It looks like the polish rubbed the clear coat off.

Uhm, it was blue something. It didn't rub it off, it rubbed on top of it. I it was already coming off.
