Default I read ALL the stickies. LOST!

Ok. I don't know HOW much time I've spent reading tire threads and stickies, but I feel like I need 245/45/16's on my rear (MY00). That being said, B-Stone doesn't make the S02's in the right size anymore (from what I can gather), and everything in that size from other manufacturers is about 2X the price of what I would think is a good price for tires.

That being said, where can I get decent prices on tires from a reputable dealer???

HALP!!

A little more clarification...

There ARE no streetable 245/45/16's out there! I've looked everywhere! Seems they're all gone! So what should I use as an alternative sizeing for the rears?

That's not true, though. I made that mistake last time.

I was looking at the Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec, but don't know what sizes to get?

Also, I'm still running OEM 16" wheels.

Ignore the stickie, it *way& overstates the "need" for 245/45-16s, and if you insist on that size you are guaranteed to have subpar tires.

Other factors (primarily alignment settings and driver skill/lack thereof) influence aP1 oversteeriness WAY more than having 225/50-16s in back.

225/50-16 rears are perfectly fine. stickie should disappear.

Ok. Looking at 245/50/R16's From what I can UNDERSTAND of all I have read on the site, and on the tire sites, it appears these should fit fine. Am I correct?

Not really. They're over an inch taller than stock which will change the braking bias, and (to a lesser extent than with 245/45-16) if you insist on this size you are again eliminating best tires from consideration.

Tire model selection is more important than getting 245s (which you do not need and won't really give any benefit in terms of real-world driving).

IGNORE THE STICKIE. It gives counterproductive advice. You DON'T NEED 245s.

Tell us what your wants/needs/usage demands are and we can make a tire recommendation.
Max dry grip?
Max wet and dry grip?
Some snow/ice/cold usage possible?
Track or autoX?
longevity a factor?
price a factor?
noise/ride comfort a factor?
