Issues with checking tire pressure.
I changed my tires yesterday to NT-01. When I tried to check my tire pressure this morning, my tire gauge was having trouble pushing down the valve pin. It turns out the tire shop used a bad valve stem core.
Solution: Went to Kragen and pick up a set of valve stem and take the valve stem core out as donor. Check these pictures out. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...1bd993846f.png bad valve stem core sits lower https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...1bd993846f.png bronze one is the bad one. Silver one is the replacement stem I picked up at Kragen. They "look" about the same, but the new one sits much closer to the surface. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...1bd993846f.png |
those bronze ones are known to go bad over time...i know at my shop we're not supposed to put those ones inside valves anymore.
