Default Jim lip replacement on SSR GT3's ? now with pictur

2 ?'s just picked up a used set of SSR GT3's.

First ? is the seller said the lip can be replaced for $60 one has a little curb rash? Just wondering if thats true and can i still get the lip i thought SSR stop making them.

2nd question is didnt notice until after i got home that the rear 2 rims have cracks. One has 2 cracks and one has one crack. All the crack are about 1/2 inch long and go from where the tire beads through both pieces inwards. My questions is should i get them fixed right away or can i drive on them for a while. The tires will need to be replaced pretty soon so i cant decide if i should just get new tires and get them fixed now.

Or can i safely drive on them for a few months with out cracking them further or have something even worse happen.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Also what is the widest tire in the rear i can run on the GT3? They currently have 255 but look a little narrow. Can i go 265 with stock ride hieght with no rubbing issues?

hmm this sounds awfully familiar with someone a few month ago buying some gt3 that they found had cracks in them from another seller....and I would not run with cracked rims its a life threatening thing.....

Where did you get these rims from? Someone from Colorado?

No he was in iowa. Cracks dont seem to be bad. I am sure they would be easy and cheap to fix just wondering if i cuold run them for a few months before fixing and switching out tires?

I got these off of ebay.

I only paid $1000 with tires so even if i pay a little to fix the cracks not a bad deal.

First, I love how sellers always estimate the amount of money it will take to fix a rim without ever getting an actual estimate. 99 times out of 100 they are way off. The Gt3 is a three piece wheel but i'll be shocked if that outer ring/lip is only $60... if you can even get them. Third, You can't usually repair cracks in rims unless they are pieces you can replace. I'd get my money back.

here is a picture i got this from a BMW site he has the same problem fronts are fine back are crack just like mine.

The seller said he would give me my money back.

My question is should i get them fixed? Or are the just going to crack again?

Seems like SSR has some serious quality issues. How many people are out there with cracked wheels that dont even know it? Seem slike there only cracking on the inside where you cant tell.

What do you guys think? I love the wheels but damn what's up with this?

you might be able to get them fixed but i personally hate cracked rims

i would never drive on it if i saw it with a crack. who knows if the next small bump will pop it
