Has anyone lowered their S 2inches on stock wheels preferably, any problems and pics would be appreciated.

2 inches..i lowered mine and these are suppose to lower 1.3 but they haven't settled yet. 2 inches the only problem i HEARD around here is needing a camber kit and maybe an allignment

i think so..but i think they said thats only if u mess with the control arm. that could mess up the alignment. but I installed my springs myself even though they were along 1.3 inches drop and the alignment is still perfect. So I take it back but you'd have to ask someone who's dropped theres that much.

 

how do you know "the alignment is still perfect"?

 

the alignment is good enough for me, i can take my hands off the steering wheel and the car goes straight for a long time just like it did before i installed the springs. To me thats perfcet. i'm not going to take it to the shop to check the alignment..if it goes bad then i'll get it aligned, but so far its perfect. the only bad thing is the camber is just a little negative that it used to be..but thats normal when lowering. i might get a camber kit but we'll see.

 

actually you alignment is almost certainly a disaster. You'll be running a mixed up combination of camber and toe, your car may track straight when you release your wheel, but it's performance at the limit will suffer. Plus you will eat tires like there's no tommorrow.

 

soooo what should i do? get an alignment? or just a camber kit? or both?

 

Get an alignment!

Your toe settings front and rear and guaranteed to be all out of whack after lowering. The fact that the car tracks straight with your hands off the wheel has nothing to do with it.

When you get your alignment, make sure they check camber. If you can't meet the camber specs, you can just live with burning up tires, or you can get the camber kit to fix it properly.
