I searched around but couldn't find any information.

I have a new set of wheels and got new TPMS sensors. Just wondering if the car's TPMS system can handle multiple sets of sensors or will the original set just be written over once the new sensors are programmed?

 

I'm fairly certain it only knows about one set at a time. Hopefully someone else can confirm this, though.

 

only 4 can be programmed to a car at a time. So if you had two sets of wheels both with TPMS sensors, you'd have to have them relearned @ the dealer each time you swapped wheels.

on a brighter note, i just found a "TPMS quickset" tool which allows you to store the setup from a 'winter' and 'summer' set of wheels and load them into your ecu.

for $125 i think i'll buy one and try it out.

 

Update: I got my new wheels installed with a new set of TPMS sensors. On my way to get the TPMS reinstalled the light went out. Is it possible the car relearned the new sensors on its own?

 

I'm wondering about this. I have an '08, and bought an extra pair of rear AP2 V3's w/ TPMS sensors to run a square setup. I just installed them on the front today, and all was fine for a while, but then the TPMS light came on and has not gone off. Any ideas on how to reset the light and keep it off?

 

in the end my light came back on.

you need to get the new sensors programmed to your car.
