Default Need opinion on wheels.

Ok so I was originally going to have my stock wheels powder coated but due to hassel and price I'm just going to fork over the extra cash and buy new wheels. I started searching today and realized their is an ocean of s2000 wheels, I have no idea where to begin. So I'm asking advice to narrow down the search. I'm looking for 17" wheels, black ( gloss or possibly matte), good company, 180-250 a wheel range. Thanks for anyone that can help with this search.

Thats VERY vague. You should narrow down a design at least, 5 spoke, concave, big lip, etc...I like Work Cr-Kai and XD-9, Advan anything almost, and lots more.

For me, in that price range, the ONLY wheels I'd get are either (actually I am also still deciding on wheels too)

TSW Interlagos (bout $210 a wheel i think)

Enkei RPF1 (bout $250 a wheel)

I say this because the wheels are both flow formed and are actually lighter than stock and would be a performance improvement. This is a lightweight sports car so putting heavy wheels on it makes no sense.

Interlagos I would get 17x9+63 nonstaggered. RPF1 has 17x8 +45 and 17x9 +45 but you need to roll your fenders. Just find someone local who has done them.

Only wheels that fit without spacers and fender rolling. I'm extremely happy with mine. Until I curbed one, now I feel like a douche

^ Bad news...they don't make them anymore

I wanted 17x10 +52 all around but found out they stopped production. You better hope you can find a replacement quick for your curbed one!

That's weird, I just bought mine a few months ago. Check their resellers, they may still be in stock. I bought mine from http://philstireservice.com/

Fortunately, the curb rash is pretty minor. A little flat black touch up paint and it should disappear.

Clarkster009 I've just fallen in love with the wheel on top, I'm sold and thats a pretty good price I was worried after my friend told me I would have to spend 2-3k for anything half way good. I will keep an eye on those.

roughly how much do you think the stock ap2 wheels would sell for if they were in great shape, after I put new wheels on I don't see the point in keeping the old ones.

Nah, $2-3k would get you something awesome, not halfway good. But these tsw wheels are made with good quality and are about as light. Just fyi, the 17x9 +63 might not look quite as curved/concaved as that. Cheapest I think I found them was around $865 shipped. If your ap2 wheels are good, prob can get $500-600.

Is that 865 for all 4 wheels? If so badass and if I can sell my rims for that, that will cover new wheels or at least the lions share.
