non stagger for street
 

I'm looking into going to a non stagger setup (primarily for appearance, so don't shoot me). I've read a lot of the stickies and other threads on the topic, but I haven't quite seen the issue I'm thinking about directly addressed. What I'm slightly concerned about with having a 245 up front is whether or not the amount of over steer caused by doing 245's all around could cause for anything dangerous on the street. I really don't plan on tracking the car, or really even any auto X is probably unlikely. Also is running a tire that wide in the front subject to more hydroplaning? Thats another majaor concern being in Florida where it can down pour and flood roads quick, though I do drive slow in the rain.

More details on my intended set up would be Swift Spec R + Koni Yellow. Wheels would be Wedssports TC105N 17x9 +35 all around. So like I said its primarily for the look I'm going for, not crazy low, though I do realize the fitment is rather aggressive. Also, my fenders are rolled flat, tab relocated, and rear bumper trimmed, in anticipation of the coming mods. Any help is greatly appreciated guys, thanks!

Get a front sway bar upgrade and you'll be fine. That will dial out the oversteer...having the front set to stiffer than the rear with the konis would be a good idea as well. As long as you have good tires that have a positive wet rating I wouldnt worry about running nonstagger on a daily basis.

Thanks for the info! Yeah I should have mentioned the intended tire also, it's the Continental Extreme Contact DW, primarily for the wet performance, but also a decent dry tire from what I understand.

What about a half inch stagger for an AP1 daily driver?

Non stagger isn't as scary as everyone says it is when i comes to oversteer. I'm running 255/40/17 on all 4 on stock 2002 AP1 S2000 that is supercharged. It is a little tail happy, but nothing a decent driver can't correct. I am however getting a front sway bar very soon though.

So just to be clear, would you consider running nonstagger for street without the swaybar actually "dangerous" or just recommend a swaybar to dial out the oversteer?

I sure wouldn't. The car wont just oversteer out of nowhere, it just means the rear will be the first to let go.

Do it !!! 255's all around is probably the best mod I've ever done to the car, so far. Have a 32mm sway up front like some folks mentioned above...handles beyond belief !

What sway bars do you guys like as I have almost the same setup.
