Default Oh man i am confused!

For the first time ever the act of searching for answers on my own has completely confused me even more than when i started!

I just bought a set of LE37T's and i am looking into upsizing tires.

The wheel sizes are 18 x 7.5 (+48) in the front and 18 x 8.5 (+50) in the rear.

Tire sizes i have right now are 215/40 in the front and 245/35 in the rear. They
look slightly stretched in my opinion and i do not prefer the look.

So i started to search and read about upsizing and what i can get to fit. I stumbled
across the infamous wheel fitment guide and i saw this:

For the front:
6.5

215/245 would be safe, I want to say even 225/255 would be safe at stock height.

225/255 will require a camber adjustment for sure. -1.5 up front and -2.0 in the rear and you should be ok

are you lowered? my friend was lowered with the exact offsets on his and he rubbed on 225's and got the fender problem that is common on s2000's when you rub in the front. you can run a 225/255 you just have to be careful if you are lowered.

yes i plan on lowering on koni shocks and struts. i am undecided on springs as of yet, but i'm trying to keep it reasonable.

i am almost definitely going to move the rears up to 255's but i want to be sure 225 is a safe number for the fronts before i make a big decision.

struts?

...225 will be fine... you'll need extra camber if you don't want to rub...

Agreed! I have the same wheels and went with a 225 up front. Lowered without a more aggressive camber setup is a bad idea! I'm going to a 215 in front and a higher camber setting cause i bent my fender out on the tire!

i was also thinking about using some wheel spacers for a bit of safety, although i've never actually used spacers before. it wouldnt be much - maybe 5mm on the fronts and less in the rear. i'm still forumulating in my head.
