Please help with tire sizing
would 205/55 on AP1 fronts and 245/50 on AP1 rears fit ok without any issues?
the stock sizes of 205/55 and 225/50 in the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 are almost the same width (7.1 and 7.3 respectively). the 245/50 is 8.4" wide.
will the sidewalls of the 245/50 be larger than the 205/55? will this effect the overall diameter negatively? Thanks for the help!!

0.55 * 205mm = 112.75mm
0.50 * 225mm = 112.5mm
0.50 * 245mm = 122.5mm
245/50-16 is significantly larger in diameter than stock.
If you're super-worried about "tread width", pick another tire make/model. There are better-performing tires available for less money.

Tire make/model choice will depend on what your wants/needs/usage are.
If wet-weather grip and resistance to hydroplaning are primary concerns, then the Goodyear GS-D3's would actually be an excellent choice (just looked over the test results and customer surveys at www.tirerack.com). Given the number of "incidents" with AP1's in the wet, it is somewhat ironic that these tires are routinely dismissed from consideration due to the narrowish rear "tread width" dimension.
Other tires worthy of consideration:
Max and Extreme Perf AP1 tires from Tire Rack
The Direzza Z1 Star Spec tires are getting great reviews, and the price is pretty reasonable. I'll probably be getting a set soon to replace my Hankook RS-2's (which are very good for the price btw).
If you need all-season capability (will tires be used in cold weather/snow?), then ignore the link above and look in the Ultra High Perf All-Season category.
Root around in the tire rack website, TONS of info there.

Dunlop Direzza star specs are the bomb! i've got a set on my car and done about 15,000kms, and still got bit of tread left. I've taken it to one track day and have fanged it quite a bit around the mountain. Excellent grip on dry - almost semi's like, and quite decent in the wet. It gets crap in the wet when its nearing the end of its life. Quite noisy, but s2k's just a noisy car so it doesnt matter anyway!
Just got my Dunlop from Jim at Tire racks. They look great!!! Cannot wait to put them on tom am.
I still have my AP1 wheels so i went for:
205/55
225/50
The whole thing delivered in 1 day $532....Hard to beat....
Even Evasive Motorsports recommended the Dunlop when i went down there to do my UK spec alignement (which his great btw).
Cheers,
