Default Purchasing New Tires

I am about to get some new tires for my S2000. I have 2 slightly used kumho spt fronts, and I could either just buy matching rears or get new hankook v12's all the way around. How many miles are some people getting out of the hankooks? I have researched and read the reviews on the v12's and they look like a good tire. Also, I was considering the Firestone lifetime alignment. Has anybody had any experience with this? Thanks!

I'd look to the RE11A as the best bang for the buck if you can swing it. All I can say about the alignment is the S2000 is VERY sensitive to alignment and adjustments can either be very rewarding or completely throw off the handling. I had a bad alignment from my local Honda dealership and ended up finding a one-man shop who does dozens of S's each year and got it dialed-in perfectly. Point is unless they know the S and you trust them lifetime alignment might not be worth it.

Second the new RE11A. Just a little more than the Evo, way better tire, and should last as long if not longer

If you're not tracking or autoXing the car, I'd just get the v12s for the back and save mucho dinero.

I can't find the RE11A in AP1 sizes. Does anyone have a link to them? Also I thought running different rears than fronts wasn't a good idea?

Why wouldn't you just buy the v12s for the rear only if the fronts are nearly new?

Go with v12 all around. 4 re11a will cost several hundred more, so if you are not going to need that level tire- why spend the money.

If you can't find the size you want, don't mix.

I have the firestone lifetime alignment but you ned to find a good shop to dial it in. I talk to the alignment guy at every shop I take my car and have it some personal specs I want them to adjust it to. I am in the military so I been to a few shops but I have my car checked at least every 3 months for free and if adjustments are needed those are free too. Some shops will not allowed you to make personal specs so ask if you do buy it. Also it is very important that you understand and know how to read the alignment spec sheet so they don't give you the run around. I the shop provide the sheet every time buy asking for a printout when I drop the car off so they don't forget. REMEMBER A BAD ALIGNMENT EATS TIRES AND AS STATED ABOVE THROWS THE CARS HANDLING OFF.
