Question on CE28 17x9.5 +50 Fitment

First set of aftermarket wheels, super excited! I just test fitted my set of CE28N yesterday but was wondering what I will need to do to drive it without beating the crap out of my OEM fenders. I also track the car 3-5 times a year so I want extra clearance. I know there have been discussion about similar wheel spec like the 17x9.5 +47 but not much has been talked about for the +50. Currently mods: - CE28N 17x9.5 +50 - T1R coilover, set at pretty stiff most of the time - Hankook RS3, 255 x 4 Not so much worried about the rear since it's sort of high. Camber joints are not needed. You should be fine with a roll and alignment.

You absolutely, without any shadow of a doubt, need to roll the front fender lips as flat as possible, trim the fender liner, and rear the quarter panel lip and trim and relocate the rear bumper tab. If you don't want them to make contact.
And yes front camber joints will likely be necessary in the front if you go lower. Personally I would recommend J's S1 over SPC but that's up to you. Expect to run at least -2 to -2.5 camber all around if you go lower. Even at the height you are at I would recommend more camber. Without it you are definitely getting the most out of those 255 RS3s. |
I run 17x10 +50, so only 12.5mm wider than you and I've flared my front fenders as much as possible, rear as been rolled as much as possible too. I agree with Andrew, you're going to need a lot of work if you plan to drive the car hard, have the car reasonably low, keep manufactures soft springs.
For example, I am running 12k/10k springs, ~4/3.2 degrees of camber front/rear and rub with heavy load - on RS3/R71r etc |
unfortunately, there is a lot internet inaccuracies regarding wheels that "fit" our cars. Often times said fitments are: not driven hard, rubs "occasionally" and therefore tolerable or fail to mention the minor mods to the fenders

Thank you everyone! I just had my friend pull the fenders and quarter panels for me. I drove around and nothing out of the ordinary happened.
I won't be tracking the car until I am for sure the wheels have enough clearance. Most likely I will do some suspension mods before feeling okay taking the car to the track. Thank you once again! |
on 245 on 9.5+47, you should NOT need camber joints. even with 255. listen to Manga. i was able to get -2.5 from stock AP1 joints, which tend to give less max negative camber than ap2s at the same height.

you don't need camber joints. around -2.5 to -2.75 camber should be enough to clear. fenders must be rolled flat. relocate tabs

not to clutter the info here, but with this exact fitment and rolled/relocate would this setup be a challenge running stock struts with Swift Spec R springs?

245 would all the more safe but i doubt you would have issues with that or a 255 |
