Question on extended studs and extended lug nuts usage?

So on the front of my s2000, I was running my NSX wheels which needed a 15mm spacer so I installed the H/R extended studs with my spacer. No issues and I installed this setup with my standard lug nuts.

Now I want to try a different wheel setup that does NOT require the spacer anymore but of course I don't want to pull my extended studs out! I put the wheel on but due to the length of the extended studs, my normal lug nuts won't fit because it's not deep enough.

I've seen extended lug nuts but those don't allow me to thread all the way through if that makes sense. Not sure if I'm using the right terminology here.

Basically my studs are super long and the lug nut hits reach it's max depth before hitting the wheel. Are there lug nuts that allow me to thread through the nut itself (hollow)?

thanks

There are many "open-ended" lug nut designs. Something like this:

Let us know if we can help you track some down.

^Do those lugs go all the way through? Meaning will the threads go through the lug completely?

I have a set that looks like those from Blox but they are not threaded all the way through and get stuck before the nut reaches the wheel.

The project kics ones are milled wider after the threads stop to allow for lug studs to penetrate all the way through.

Thanks, I guess I found the right word, what I'm looking for is OPEN ended lugs.

Greg, do you have a quality set of black or titanium open ended lugs? (12x1.5) PM me and I'll order a set :)

First of all be aware of the nut seating if you change from a Honda OEM rim to an aftermarket one, Honda is ball seat and aftermarket are cone seat.

On the lenght issue, I've been in your situation with the HR extended studs. FYI there are available different sizes of lug nuts. S2k OEM size is 25mm, however I had to use the 35mm version and they fitted fine. I don't know which Honda car uses that size (it was a gift from another s2k owner).

Later on I changed to the ARP studs OEM size and prayed for all this to be finished, however they are still longer that the Honda ones by a few milimeters, so I still can't use the 25 mm nuts, but the 30mm ones. The only problem comes with the locking nuts, all reputable makes are too short.

I'm not too keen to use open ended lugs due to rusting.
