Default Quick question

It was suggested to me to go 255/35/18, and 225/40/18. Can someone explain what the reasoning is for using both 35 and 40 series tires? Wouldn't that technically make the front sit higher than the back?

The "series" is proportional to the width of the tire so the wider you got the lower the sereis has to be to stay the same overall height.

Hey Jim, I want to run 215/40/18 on my new front rims since they are slighty aggressive offset. The best fit I found was the Dunlop FM901, but then the ratings are bad on those. So I looked at the Kumho 712s, Ive always liked these tires on my last car. Then I noticed the 225/40/18's section width is only 8.2". Which is pretty small for a 225, the same model 215 is even wider than that. So I want to make sure that's not a typo on the website?

Also, for this kind of set up with 245/40/18 in the rear. What other tires would you recommend? I don't want to go over 600 bucks for the whole set, and I want decent wet traction summer tires.
