Default RE-11R

Well I had messaged Bridgestone itself to ask if there was a RE-11R in the works and they officially said that there was nothing. He mentioned that the RE-11 is to run from 5-7 years.

Bridgestone:

"Thank you for visiting our website. The Potenza RE-01R was just discontinued and replaced by Potenza RE-11. It is now available in any of our Firestone Complete Auto Care locations nationwide."

I was kind of pissed, it took them 2 weeks to reply and he sends me this retarded answer about Firestone auto care centers, really man? I dont give a shiat about your auto care centers, they retards at Firestone in my town couldn't even figure out what a RE01R was, then told me they dont exist, and I said " I have them on my car" LMAO. So any way my response was kind of rude lol.

Me:

"Yes I know that the RE-11 replaced the RE-01R, I am asking if there will be an RE-11R because I don't want to spend $900 on RE-11 tires then an RE-11R is released. Does that make more sense?"

Bridgestone:
"In my email, I mentioned that RE-11 is now available in our Firestone stores. There is no RE-11R . At the moment, with the tire

Yeah, i currently have RE01R on my car and i generally get a season or so out of my tires, but ill prob go with the star specs again. I think the bridgestone tires are way over priced, the only reason i got them was because they were half off.

Are you basing the idea that there might be an re11r off the fact that the re01r has an r at the end? I can't think of any other reason why you'd think there will be an re11r tire.

RE-11s are superior to RE-01Rs. RE-01Rs were also the same price when they first came out. If they continued to sell the RE-01Rs nobody would buy the RE-11s. Gotta pay for the expensive R&D associated with creating a new tire/compound.

but i think bridgestone is way over priced compared to star specs. or the xs tires.

The RE-11 is a newer compound and out performs the RE-01R. The "R" on the tire isn't like the Type R for Hondas. It's just a name for the tire.

There was an RE01 tire for years, not sure if it ever came to the US. Then they came out with RE-01R and changed the compound and stiffened the sidewall. So in a sense it was like a type R. I was curious if they would do the same to the RE-11, change the compound and stiffen the sidewall. Every test I've seen on a road circuit the RE-01R and tires that Bridgestone claim to be "superior" (RE-11, RE070)were so close in lap times there was a negligeable difference between them, more feel than anything, like turn in etc.
