Question Rear tire wear

My rear right side tire is almost bald, but the left side has noticeably more tread left. Is this normal?

also, about how often do you guys change tires?

My SO2's lasted almost 22k miles and thats with DD and spirited driving...no burn outs or donuts.

They will wear fast (assuming you have stock tires)

the rears are supose to wear the same on both sides together, your alignment might be off in the rear. any burnouts? drifting? maybe your lsd is bad

If you haven't yet i would check for spring spacers. I just replaced my rears 2 days ago because i had the same exact problem as you and i found a spring spacer on that side and only that side so i'm assuming my uneven wear was due to that. And just in my defense i just got the car 2 months ago so all fault goes to the previos owner for not noticing it for 4 years. Either way i would have your alignment checked just to be safe.

I would say you have something wrong on that side. My rears last about 9,000 and I do not do any burnouts or donuts.

Yes, this may be normal, mine did the same thing. I think its from your driving habits. most driver gas it on to onramps that turn to the left. thus putting the weight on the right rear tire.and I did check for the correct tire pressure. anyway this is what Im thinking.

Almost bald meaning...almost bald all the way across the tire...or just a section of it?

I have replaced my rear OEM size RE050's 3 times and I have 20K on my car The fronts however have only been replaced once.

Huh?!

Wear on one side of the car *can* be due to driving conditions. But it would be really rare to see this happening in street use. It's usually seen on race tracks, where almost every turn is in the same direction and the tires are working a lot harder than it is safe to ever work them on the street.

Unless you know you've been doing some really asymmetric driving, I'd look for a suspension or alignment problem.
