The Michelin Pilot Super Sports are worth looking into. Good treadwear, fantastic handling, smooth ride and low noise.

If you're mainly using it for daily commuting, than you might want to look at something with a bit more tread life. That or ask yourself how many miles you really would like to get out of your tires. I daily my S in the summer, but decided it wasn't worth the short tread life and very few times I would be able to pull out the difference between an extreme to a max performance summer rated tire. All opinions will vary, as it truly is a matter of personal preference though. I ended up coming from "continental extreme contacts" (pretty good A/S tire that came with the car) to "bridgestone S-04 pole positions" and couldn't be happier with them. Recently got stuck in a torrential downpour with these and they left me with a very confident feeling (even when pushing the car).

these are another amazing tire. I was looking into getting these, but they were not available in the size I wanted. I have a friend with a 2jz is300 and he swears by these.

I now have 2 sets of the Re-11a's on both S2000's and couldn't be more happy with their capabilities. Try either tire and you won't go back to the A/S tires. I'll bet money!!!
Well driving the Bridgestone RE760's in low speed street driving situations they felt like a decent compromise, and I thought a long lasting treadwear was worth a try (and the asymmetric tread design allows you to flip wheels side to side for even better wear). Once I hit roads like the Dragon it felt like I was on ball bearings, it felt terrible, and they totally ruined the performance feel of the car. Putting on the RE-11a's has restored my faith in the vehicle, such a night and day difference. I honestly believe the car feels safer if I want to hit some curvy roads. I wish I had put them on before my Dragon visit . I will never compromise performance for treadwear again on the S2000.

If you are just going back and forth between church, the grocery store, and school (work), you probably will be happy with any tire, but if you appreciate the responsiveness of a good quality tire and you want to hit some twisties from time to time then you need to sacrifice some treadwear.

Understood. That is why I am considering trying out a summer tire instead of just getting my third round of A/S.

High performance tires wear out faster than low performance tires. Don't misunderstand. Fast wearing tires do not mean they're high performance. Don't confuse the two but expect faster wear as performance goes up.

If you even glance briefly at the track and autocross posts you see tires wearing out in just a few days. There's a reason these guys haul trailers with tires.

Maybe I'm not pushing hard enough but I can't recall the last time I got tire squeal in a corner on the street with the RE-11A tires. The g-forces tell my dynamic butt dyno I'm cornering fast.

With the RE-11A tires no longer available in 17" OEM sizes the remaining choice (for me, anyway) is the Bridgestone RE-71R, the replacement for the RE-11A.

I'd recommend the Michelin Pilot Super Sport or S-04 Pole Position. You should be able to get closer to 20,000 miles out of them, and they will grip significantly better than an all season.

I had just got through reviewing these two particular tires on Tire Rack.
