Default Replacement size for AP1 stock tires

Hi there, i know the topic been debated to death but here we go again.

Story: I am replacing my stock tires on my ap1 wheel soon, I have stock height and stock everything.

I am thinking of getting aftermarket tires but i want them to be in stock size, i am not going for the lower profile because i don't need to clear nothing with stock height. I am thinking of getting Kumho SPT, BFgoodwich G-force sport or Falken 615

So the stock tires' size are

205/55/16 Front

225/45/16 Rear

So i will need

205/55/16 Front(aftermarket)

245/50/16 Rear(aftermaket)

RIGHT? for the rear tires, is it 50 or 45 series?

What's deal?

thanks s2ki

You need 245/45/16 for the rear. There's a whole thread stickied at the top about it.

Hi viper, thanks for coming to the rescue.

btw will the 45 series match the 50 series in tire wall height?

or the over all height will be shorten?

A 245/50R16 will be taller sidewall than 245/45R16...The 45 and 50 series are actually based off percentages of the width. Example....

A 205/50/16 will have a smaller sidewall than a 245/50/16.

This is why you will notice the 205/55 up from and the 225/45 in the rear, yet the sidewalls should look relatively the same height. Hope that helps.

Just to further explain, that number represents "aspect ratio". It is, in fact, the "percentage" of the tread cross sectional width.
So, a 205/55/16 tire has a sidewall that is 55% of the tread width (or 205 in this case) or about 137.5mm.

Ok where are you finding SPT's in 245/45/16 ? I can only find them in 245/50/16, and am a bit confused on which size to go with since they're not available in 245/45...
