Default ROTA rims?

Seems like market for ap2v1 rims has dried up lately. Don't see many on eBay nor on the FS forums. No big deal, I'm not in a huge rush.

But my saved eBay searches keep sending me auctions for ROTA rims. They look nice and seem reasonably priced. Hence they make me suspicious ... being a cynical-old-man-in-training.

They are decent, weight will be similar to comparable stock sizes. Most of the styles aren't available in ideal S2000 staggered fitments though.

Nothing wrong with Rotas. They are made in cast iron, nothing light about that. They just replicate wheels, for some that's a very big deal.

Not true. The slipstreams are pretty light.

I recently picked up a set of Rota Torques in white for very, very cheap w/ tires. I think they are the best mod Ive done to the car besides boost.
Let the haters hate, no one cares about your slow a$$ JDM car anyway.

i own two sets of both volk (gtp & gts) and rota (j-mag & slipstream) wheels. daily driving wise, they're both the same when it comes to resisting bends and cracks from everyday driving, with the rota's holding up much better. the worst wheels i've owned would be the tenzo passion-5, every wheel bent to hell. axis reverb wheel are the same quality as volk and rota with the exception that the center caps would never stay on (i stopped ordering after losing three). the best wheels that showed absolutely no damage whatsoever as long as i've owned them were the 5Zigen 5ZR Copse.

I have a set of Rota Torques that I use for summer wheels. I bought them last year, put about 6000 miles on them with no problem. I just put them back on last weekend, and they still look brand new, no issues at all. The roads in NJ are horrible, soooo many pot holes, and my Rotas hold up perfectly fine.

You'll find a lot of die hard JDM fans who find it necessary to spend $3000 on a set of wheels for your daily driver. Personally, I think that's ridiculous. If I hit a really bad pot hole and bend a wheel, I'd much rather spend $150 to replace it than $600.

Get a set of Rotas. You'll be very happy with the style, the quality, and the extra savings for other mods!
