S2000 Wheels and Handling

As far a handling for a s2k I know that having 17 inch rims prove to be much better for handling but as far as width and offset what do you guys recommend to improve rather then make worse i know most wheels besides stock and some aftermarket have the same offset but what are your takes on the +45 offsets for the front and back. I dont feel that they improve the handling rather then make it worse am I wrong or right? Thanks

I don't think this is necessarily true.

AP2's are no quicker than AP1's in autocross competition, the two are practically equal despite the AP2 having wider 17" wheels.

Yea your right but i was wondering how does offset aggressive offset affect the handling

If you want to maximize handling, you'll want to maximize tire width first, so you'll want to have offsets that allow you to fit those tires.

In this sense, on street tires, there will be an advantage for 17s, as you can go with 255s all around (225 are the widest 16" street tires you can get in the best tires) *IF* you go with a modest enough offset. +45 is about the minimum offset for 255s and that's if you roll/trim the fender lip. If you don't want to muck with the fenders at all, you'll want greater offsets than that, in the +63 neighborhood for the fronts.
