Got the SSR GT1's just last week (required for posing in LA):

F 18x8(+45) 225/40-18
R 18x9(+55) 245/35-18
(Kumho Supra Tires)

Paid about $2k

These sizes will just ever-so-slightly stick out of your fenders (3-5mm or so...I will measure more closely when I get a chance)...but actual appearance is "even" with the fender edge. I do get some minor rubbing if I hit a bump while cornering hard. Mine is not lowered and frankly looks fine without being so. The ride is a little harsher but handling is very similar to stock (slightly higher steering effort due to wider rubber). The wheels themselves are quite beautiful -the silver finish is positively iridescent. They're also light and have a nice deep cross-section to them. If you plan to lower it, you may want to go with less width (18x7.5, 18x8.5, perhaps) or smaller tires (TRack recommended 215's F, 235's R). I'm keeping the stockers for the track, though

DO you think going with 18x7.5 and 18x8.5 along with thinner tires will stop the rubbing if I keep my suspension stock. Yeah, I have those SSR GT1 18's on my Audi TT and they are absolutely beautiful.

hey dipstick,

nice choice of wheels

i also have the 18" SSR GT1's with F 225/40/18, R 255/35/18 S03's - my car is also lowered an inch with H&R springs and i get no rubbing whatsoever.

maybe the tread width (not tire width which is F225 or R255) of your Kumho's is greater/wider than the S03's that i have. the S03's have a rounded shoulder.

i am also running a little bit more negative camber in the rear than factory.

Yes, I read in some other threads that the S03's are somewhat rounder...I think I'll try those next time 'round.

If you wanted no chance of rubbing I would recommend a 215/40R18 and a 245/35R18 rear with the GT-3. Frome the other post you can see that there is some differences from car to car. The biggest we would go would be 225/40R18 and 255/35R18.
Let me know if I can help.
Thank you
