Default Staggered Rim Size?

Alright this might be an absolutley retarded idea but what if I staggered the rims like so; 17 x 7 +42 Front and 18 x 8 +40 Rear. I'm having a terrible time finding rims that I like with proper offsets in the right size. Is this idea going to make the s2k look fugly or might it work ? Any ideas...

Looks weird IMO. The OEM S2000 tires have the same diameter front and rear, so if you use a bigger wheel in the rear, the tire looks lower profile (because it is, duh.) The effect is that the front tire/wheel ends up looking like it's from a 4x4.

I saw a pic on here once, I'll see if I can find it.

The alternative is that you use a slightly larger overall diameter tire on the rear and slightly smaller in front, but that's not the best idea in the world either.

Keep looking. Browse the W&T forum and the Gallery and you're sure to find something you like. Keep the Wheel Fitment Guide handy though if you are going to browse internet sites. Most sites will tell you their wheels will fit, when they are a bad fitment. Just because they "fit" onto the hub doesn't mean they'll work properly and maintain the good handling and sporty nature of this car.

Cheers.

I think you mean you have a hard time finding CHEAP rims that would fit the S right? But also if you like that rim you pictured up above you should check out the work s2r as they look basically like the rim above but looks much better.....

I just didn't wanna spend $600 a rim. Wish there was a nice little $200ish rim out there . I don't really like the Work and Volk wheels, but those Jlines were nice. Still 600 a wheel though. Thanks guys.
