Default TE37 advice

Hi Guys,

i have checked out most of the " fitment guides " on here however i would rather get a personal opinion from you guys.
I have been offered a smashing deal on a set of TE37's, however i am a complete noob when it comes to offsets and tyre fitments etc.

The spec are as follows...

front - 17x8.5 +40 , rear 17x9.5 +40.

Tyres Avon zz2 235 45 17 and 255 45 17.

im obviously going to get some meister R coilovers to compliment the alloys but im not looking to " slam it" , just want to cancel the huge amount of gap.

My main question is, will i need a different set of tyres as these are pretty chunky, and im guessing i may need to get the arches pulled / rolled, or do you think these will fit without that sort of work?

cheers
Elliot

You'll need different tires. 255/45/17 is a lot taller than factory OD, which is 255/40/17. Personally, I'd run 235/40/17 F & 255/40/17 R, and definitely roll fenders flat. I'd also relocate the bumper bolt and trim down the rear bumper lip.

I would not run the 235/40 with the 255/40 because of the difference in the height of the tires. The 235/40is shorter than stock and the 255/40 is taller. It could throw off the anti lock brakes. With that low of an offset narrower tires would fit better but would be a little stretched with the width of the wheels.
If I can help with anything let me know.

Actually, factory tire size for AP2s are 215/45/17 & 245/40/17; for the CR the rear is 255/40/17 with a 215/45/17 front. If I had to get new tires for a stock set-up I would run 225/45/17 & 255/40/17. Sorry Ellzy, not sure about rub, pull, etc...

thanks for your input guys, much appriciated, turns out the rear tyre spec is actually 255/40/17, im going to look at them at the weekend as he lives near me.
It's just going to be hard to judge as i won't be getting coilovers until next month.
Either way they are being sold with the tyres so if need be i will just have to change all 4 to the correct setup.
I know they are very pupular over the pond, but here in the UK they are pretty dam rare,
The sale price for these ( second hand ) is not far off the price for a fresh set of Rota grids, so its a pretty good investment if you ask me />
