Default Tire Choice for Drift Day

What would be the best approach for a Drift Day? (For stock AP2)

The Format:

Front + Rear tires

1) RE050s + RE050s (most expensive, but does that equal more fun?)
2) RE050s + All Seasons
3) RE050s + Summer tires that are cheaper than RE050s
4) any other suggestions would be appreciated

I'm trying to choose the best set of rear tires for a beginner drifting class.

Thanks in advance!

Quality up front, dirt cheap in the rear.

^HAHAHa red smoke tire?

get the crappiest tire with the highest treadwear possible, OP - it'll last the longest and it'll slip the easiest

chances are you will flat spot your fronts,
so get something cheaper

federal 595 SS (in 17") are a good proven and cheap tire for drift

while you are beginner do not use good tread on the rear, they are harder to get smokin and will make you go alot faster, so you are more likely to hit something hard if you mess up.

run federals on the front, with throw away tires on the rear, whatever you find with tread at your local tyre joint. firenzas seem to last a while if theyre in ok condition.

when you get better move onto federals on all 4 corners.

if you are running 18s, try achilles, or nankangs on the rear
you can still use federals on the front but dont federals in 18" on the rear, the compound is different and they tend to delaminate.

for drift you can use 16" at rear.
narrower. cheaper. easier to transport.
dumped and dry ones are the best.
the less traction the better.

fronts air pressure better to be high - 45-50 psi is good.
rears - lower pressure - i usually put 35.
(all PSI numbers are "hot").

i suggest to get 3 rear drift wheels - most commonly only one rear gets smocked so having one spair will get you going much longer....
