Tire Fitment Help: RC-1 275/35ZR17

Hey Guys, Sorry I'm a newb when it comes wheel / tire fitment.

Can someone tell me if I can fit Maxxis Victra RC-1's in 275/35ZR17 all around on Re30's 17x9.5 + 40 offset.

I have Spoon fenders front (+20mm) and Rear (+25mm). Car is lowered on Ohlins about 1.7 inchs with -2.2 Camber all around.

-Thanks

You MIGHT be able to pull it off with a lot more negative camber in the front (will require adjustable UBJs), but you're really 5-6mm off still. Rear should be fine. Your safe bet is to run a 255/40/17. a 275/35 is a little stuffed onto a 9.5" wheel anyway, with that tire you'd be much better off with a 10" wheel. 255s would perform better on your wheels.

cooper lima from tire rack says 275 will fit on 17x9 and tire rack is ultra conservative....

Do you want it to just "fit" on the rim or do you want it to work/perform well with the right/optimum sidewall profile? If you don't care about good handling and maximizing the tires section width/grip, then cram whatever you want on there.

Redcelica has it right generally speaking. I don't know if these tires run wide or narrow for their size, which will make a difference. Also a good rule of thumb to check the tires spec on manufacture website and run the max/mate rim width to its total section width. If a true 275mm wide, run a 10.5-11" wide rim etc.

They dont run too wide: 10.8" For reference, Toyo RRs in 255/40 are actually 10.9", but if you look at them on a 9" wheel they're a little stuffed on there, but a lot of s2000s in honda challenge run them anyway. A 9.5" wheel would be great, 10" even better, but you're gonna need a higher offset. Honestly, if I was in the market for wheels and tires with the fenders you have, I'd check out the 949Racing 17x10 +52s. Those would be perfect I think. OP, also with RC1s you want to run more camber too. I am running -3.0 all around and really to need to run more in the front, as I am still wearing the outer edges.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I guess I will stick with 255/40/17 tires for now...I'm pretty much limited by my wheel offset and my fenders... My alignment guys wasn't able to dial in any more camber then -2.5 in the rear... I have J's S2 Camber joints on the front, I guess I may have to pick up some hardrace rear upper camber arms...

Does anyone know if Volk makes any high offset 17x10 Ce's or Te's that would fit under my fenders with 275/35/17 RC-1's? +45 Offset is the highest I can find.

You might try 255/40-17 in front with 275/35-17 in back. I've been running 275/35-18 NT01s on 18x9.5 on the FD, no complaints...
That said, probably not worth it depending on power level and how important rotatability is to you...

dang you beat me to it Brett. I have that tire on 949s 17x10, its pretty fat on THAT size. don't kid and run 255's. problem is NOT the fenders it's the wheel width.
