Tire fitment question

Hey I currently have General Altimax HP tires on my ap1 with stock tire sizes. Today I got a flat (damn razor-blade) and was looking online and websites say that this tire wont fit the car? I have them on the car now so I dont know how that could be.

Front or rear? That is the stock size for an AP1 rear.

the only thing that will fit the rear and be a proper tire for a stock wheel ap1 is the fusion zri size 245/45//17

he might have an ap1 and that is the correct size for ap1's rear.

edit: maybe its because the tire is H rated?...

yep correct size.......i am guessing speed rating as well. there are better tires :) but yea ur good if you want to buy 1 of those, assuming the other side doesnt have jacked-up tread.......

This is incorrect, stock AP1 sizes are fine. The infamous stickie was well-intended but it VASTLY overstated the importance of getting "tread width" numbers equivalent to the oem 225/50-16 tires. It ain't a big deal. And anyway, there are quite a few 225/50-16s available now that are about the same width as the OEM B'stone S-02's anyway.

Correct AP1 sizes = 205/55-16 front, 225/50-16. If you get Fuzion ZRI tires just to be able to have 245/45-16 rears, you are giving up a ton of rear grip vs. a whole slew of better tires in the stock sizes.

To the OP, 225/50-16 is TOTALLY FINE. But you should consider this an opportunity to get off yer substandard tires and get better-performing rubber all around. "Grand Touring All-Season" is not exactly a high-performance tire category...

If you don't need all-seasons (i.e., you don't drive in snow/ice/cold conditions), you're better off (gripwise, anyway) on Summer tires.
