Tires and alignment question
I need to get tires for my new wheels. I can run either
215/40/18 front and 245/35/18 rear OR 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear what are my options as far as bang for the buck tires. I do not want to spend a boatload on tires. My car is a daily driver and being located in newyork, there is lots of rain and i do drive the car in light snow. and my alignment question: Will i need an alignment just switching to 18" rims from stock 17's? I plan on lowering the car in the future. I would like to get my alignment done then if it is not necessary now. TIA -Dave |
First off the tire size you would run would depend on the wheels width and the offset of the wheels. As far as the alignment goes you would not need to get an alignment done just for changing wheels and tires. When you change the springs you will have to have it done.
Bang for the buck tires would be like the Kumho MX, Fuzion ZRI, BF Goodrich KDW2. If I can help let me know. |
hey jim thanks for the response!. Those were the sizes recommended for me by my vendor. my wheels are 18x9 18.x7.5 ...i forget the offsets at the moment but i was told to run either 215/40/18 and 245/35/18 OR 225/40/18 and 255/35/18. I was looking at tirerack's website and the i was very limited in my choices.....how are the kumho asx all seasons?
