Track Tire offsets
 

I am planning on purchasing wheels for track duty. I was hoping to run 245s in the front and 275s in the rear. Will I be able to do this?

I understand that I will need a +55 offset to run the 245s up front. Do the stock AP2 wheels have this capability?

if he says +42 all around thats it,

7.5 they make +50+42+30, and i always sell the +50's for s2k fronts
8.5 they make +42+32+25 , and i sell the +42 for semi agressive rear

front is going to be pushing it with a 215/ much less a 245..
rear with fenders rolled and uk spec alignment id say 245 max,

also 245 on 7.5 is bad idea because the sidewall flex will make it seem off balance in the turns. u really want to aim near the top of the reccomended fitment from manufacturer for track setup(roadcourse) aim towards bottom for 1/4 mile

i.e. 255 says 8.5---10, run on 9.5/10 for road course.

in front to run 245 i would be driving on at least 9+56-------64 and in rear to run a stagger fitment of like 275R id run at least 10+65-------74, or 10.5+68---72


if you wanted something in those fitments u wont find it in monoblock and would have to 2 piece route.

There are guys who run 245s and 275s R-compound in the A-stock class at the Auto-Xs. I know it's truly pushing the size of the tires, but 275s will fit on a 8.5 rim.

I want cheap ugly and light wheels to run these tire sizes. What do you recommend?

u can push huge tires but after a certain point it doesnt make it that much better for the car... i can force a 305 on a 9 but doesnt mean its going to handle well

for what ur looking for, (btw xd9 are heavy as bricks, well centerblocks) ur not going to find light and cheap and staggered in same sentence so ull have to sacrifice.

light, staggered, expensive= Ce28 17x9+63F 17x10+70R
light, staggered, cheap= enkei rpf1 17x8+45 17x9+45
heavy, staggered, cheap = xd9/xt7/crkai 8+47 9+44 or 8+439+42 for the xd9
light, staggered, under 2k= work xsa o2c, 17x9F17x10R

etc etc etc...

if your going to spend the $ get something wide that wont allow sidewall flex.. for 245/275 on a track car i still like before wouldnt go narrower than 9F 10R..

how about the ASA FR1's?

Here are sizes:
17x9 +63 offset
17x8 +52 offset

235's up front with decent camber, and a stiff suspension?

265's in the rear no worries I'm sure.

The ASA wheel will not allow the bigger tires. The only wheel we have that will is the TRM F3. I have seen people use the 245/45R17 and 275/40R17 with this wheel and the Kumho V710.

I searched Tire rack and I couldn't find: TRM F3, what sizes, costs and weights? Nice looking wheel tho!

will a 235F 265R set up work on the FR1s with camber and stiffness?? I have to ask again because I don't like the bad news and I've witnessed 245F and 275R on AP2 A-Stock before.
