Thumbs up VSA and 16" wheels

I'm having issues with my VSA indicators all going on when I put 16" AP1 wheels with Toyo RA1 tires on my MY'07. The diameters are very close to the stock 17" wheels and tires - and I didn't have a problem when the front tires were nearly corded. It only started when I put new tires on, which would have been slightly larger in overall diameter. Is the VSA that sensitive?

I've posted this thread in Racing & Competition - so if anyone else has seen this problem or knows of a solution, please post here:

You don't mention what sizes you used for tires. The car can not tell what size wheels are on it. It only picks up the outside diameter.
As long as the tire sizes are correct you should be good to go.

The tire sizes are posted in the other thread - I was hoping to avoid reposting all the info from that thread ... but I'm using Toyo RA-1s

Rears - 245/45ZR16 (24.7" diameter)
Fronts - 205/55ZR16 (24.9" diameter)

The stock Bridgestone sizes are:
215/45-17 diam = 24.8
245/40-17 diam = 24.6

So yeah, it should be close enough not to throw off the VSA. But I'm having the problem and am wondering whether others are, too, or if I should be concerned about it.

Earlier, I had a set of corded RA-1s on the front and the VSA indicators did not light up. It was only after I replaced the fronts with new RA-1s (shaved) that the indicators lit up. They go off after I turn the car off and back on, but as soon as the wheels rotate a couple of times, the indicators all go on again.

Get the codes pulled. This is identical to the stock spec. I can only assume that someone jacked one of the abs sensors.

Um. But the lights went off again as soon as I put the stock wheels back on and they've been fine since (although I haven't put the 16" wheels back on since then). Also - the ABS indicators never came on and ABS was working fine at the track (with the 16's on).

Why do you think getting the codes pulled is going to help?
