What do I ask for?????
I am about to buy a pair of rear tires......
If I go into the local Bridgestone store and just ask for a pair of Potenza S02's and specify the size or tell them I want them for an S2000 will I get the "proper" tire or do I have to go to my dealership to get the "special" S02 that it is my understanding that is made only for the S2000. To complicate things even more , Should I just fit a pair of S03's T.I.A. Jim |
1. Find a local tire store that will accept a shipment from TireRack.
2. Call Jim at TireRack 800-428-8355-364 and order a set of S2000 specific S02's. Rears should cost around $160 + shipping of about $20. 3. Two days later or less go to the tire store and get your tires mounted and balanced paying attention to the directional arrows. 4. Pay the tire store about $15 per tire for valve stems, mounting, balancing, and environmental fees. 5. Be prepared to do this all again in about 10,000 miles for all 4 tires. 6. I'd recommend against mixing s03's with S02's. If your going to use S03's then change all 4 tires. TireRack is probably your best bet here too. 7. If you go to a local Bridgestone store, they're going to have to order the tires anyway, and they'll probably cost over $200/tire + mounting, balancing, and sales tax. Do some searches and you would have been able to confirm this without further ado. |
Thanks Gloffer for the plug. I do appreciate it. We have the OE tire in stock at 152.00 per tire and can have them to you within about 2 working days. I would not recommend the mixing of tires on the car either. You can end up with unpredictable handling.
Let me know if I can help. Thank you Jim |
