Thumbs up Wheel Dilema Please Help

I bought my s2k with 17" non staggered wheels with 215/45/17 tires. I didn't like the fact that they weren't staggered so i ended up buying a set of 19" staggered Konig Trouble's for a good price. The tire sizes are 235/35/19 & 275/30/19, now the problem is the offset is to low so the wheels are poking out of the wheel wells a little bit and rubbing in the rear during hard cornering. So, now i'm thinking of putting the other wheels back on and wondering if I can at least stagger the tire size. I want to put 235/40's on the rear set and leave the 215/45 on the front set and the rims are 7"s wide all around. Will this work out? If none of what i wrote made sense the real question is will a 235mm tire fit on a 7" rim?

We can't answer your question without knowing the offset of your 17x7 wheels.

Then yes, you should be able to run a 235 in the rear.

Thanks to tirerack.com i found an answer to my question the rim needs to be at least 7 1/2"s for a 235 series tires so looks like i will be going with 225's.
