Default Which wheel+tire is heavier

I'm looking to put square setup 9" wheels

I know it will look much better (aggressive) but I'm worried about the performance and response once I do.

I researched a little about staggered vs non-staggered, and I didn't find anything I don't like having non-staggered.
Though when it comes to overall weight
Enkei which what I might go with is around 16-17lb a wheel, and the OEM is around 21lb
but the enkei I'm going with are 9" that's 2" wider on front and around 0.5" on the back

my question which one is heavier ? 16lb 9" with 245/17/40 tire or 21lb 7" with 215/17/45 ?

If heavier? how much and will it affect my steering feel/response?

Thank you guys.

They'll be close in weight, depending on the tire probably within a pound or two. Steering will be heavier with the wider tire, but assuming the tire is stiff enough, you shouldn't lose steering precision..

so you mean wider tire will cover up the ligher weight?!
concerning the performance: no gain at all right?

I thought I'll gain some rotation mass which should be significant.. no?!?!

It's not just the wheel weight that matters. In fact the tire weight plays an even more significant part of rotating mass than the wheel weight (as it is farther away from the hub). A 245 width tire is going to be a few pounds heavier than the 215 width tire, so this will effectively make the combination swap a wash in terms of weight. However with the heavier tire the weight will now be farther away from the hub, therefore you'll probably have a slightly higher polar moment of inertia even though the overall tire + wheel weight is similar.

The different will be relatively small though and I doubt you'll notice it.

I thought the 17x7 OEM wheel was somewhere around 18-19 lbs and the rear wheel around 21 lbs? I recently switched from a 17x9 +45 with a 235 tire to the stock 17x7 +55 wheel with the 225 tire and the "steering feel" definitely changed. The car feels more nimble and the steering feel is lighter but overall the car feels a little more...er, "squirrely" I believe is the correct word.

Good explanation. I actually dont like the squirreliness because i dont feel as if i have that much control of the car when cornering sharp turns at high speeds.

Your numbers are pretty close. AP2 front is just under 18lbs and rear is just under 21lbs. That "squirrely" feeling is probably due to the tire (tall treadblocks = more squirm). Remember OEM AP2 front tire is a 215 width and people seem to love the handling from it.
